So, Your Cash Is Finally Flowing. Now What?
Well friends, we made it to the end of another year. I hope you’re taking some to relax with friends and family, while also putting in the work to make sure that 2024 is your best year yet.
If you’ve been following our content for a while—or better yet, you’re already working with SquareDash to improve your cash flow—you may find that you’re sitting on some extra cash. Once you’ve funded that “strategic planning session” in Cancun, here are some other ways to put that cash to work.
Build your team.
The off season is the perfect time to focus on your staff. Whether it’s sales or technical training to elevate your existing team, or hiring more salespeople, investing in people is almost always money well spent.
Purchase equipment.
If you’ve been eyeing a shiny, new truck (or two), a conveyor, or just a new generator, use this time to reinvest your profits in equipment for your business. Because it’s the off season, there may be good deals to be found if you shop around. And every dollar you spend before the end of the year lowers your tax liability.
Pay off debt.
Debt Isn't always a bad thing. If you’re borrowing money at favorable terms, it can be a strategic asset for your business. But if you’re behind with suppliers or have taken on debt at high interest rates, it may be time to re-evaluate. How much cash you’re willing to part with to pay down debt can be a tricky decision, but I encourage you to take a look at your overall cash-to-debt picture and see if this is the right time to knock out some obligations.
Conquer new territory.
Been eyeing those affluent suburbs two counties away? Now’s the time to make your move. Start working on your sales team—and strategy—so that by the time spring rolls around, you’re ready to hit the ground running.
Level-up your marketing.
Be honest. Is your website up to par? (Take a hard look at it on your phone before you answer.) Are you using search engine optimization to your advantage? What about social media and email? If your marketing efforts aren’t generating the results you need, now’s the time to invest in new tools and partnerships.
