Keep Knocking on Those Doors This September

Summer might be beginning to wind down, but that doesn’t mean your roofing or restoration company can’t keep bringing in new jobs and increasing profit. At SquareDash, we consider “door-knocking season” to be a long one, running from the peak of summer right until the bitter end.

Here are 5 Door-Knocking Seasonal Tips on how you should continue making the most of this busy time for your business.

  1. Keep Replenishing Your Cash Reserves

Hopefully, at this point in the busy working season, you’ve been taking full advantage of adding managed cash flow acceleration to your business and getting job payments in faster than ever before. Remember, once you have an approved contract and initial payment from the property owner, submit the job to us so we can begin evaluating how to accelerate your cash flow on it. That way, you will be in the best position ever to manage off-season operations with ease.
Punchline: Remind your sales team to facilitate the property owner handoff to SquareDash at the contract signing.
  1. Collect ALL Outstanding Balances

There’s nothing more haunting than an AR file growing stale on your desk. Be sure to follow up with property owners who have outstanding balances on their invoices. This will allow you to take on more final summer jobs before the storms roll in. Have your sales team collect this payment during the final site walk-through if they can.
  1. Don't Wait on Supplementing

If you know you’re going to need more money upfront, get that supplement claim submitted ASAP. This is an area where insurance companies love to take their time—they won’t hand out allowances without a request. Whether you assess new costs before you start or need a top-up to finish the job to your standard, have your team write up the supplement and get it to the office right away.
  1. Keep Selling

September isn’t too late to claim more jobs. With more cash in the bank, thanks to SquareDash claim funding, and more time on your hands thanks to our billing services, taking on even more jobs shouldn’t be a problem. Plus, you won’t be playing “bank” for the insurance companies, so you’ll  even have the available funds to pay your team on time.
  1. Ask for referrals

With the summer coming to an end, there’s no doubt you have tons of happy new customers. While your great work is fresh in their minds, it’s the perfect time to ask them for a referral. If you still have jobs from last season you never got around to asking for a review, do it now as things start slowing down.

Hang in there, roofers! You’ve made it through the bulk of your busy season. With just a few weeks left to complete jobs before the weather turns, be sure to maximize your sales and systems with our 5 Door-Knocking Seasonal Tips.
